Giving back to our local community is something we are extremely proud of here at Global Solar Solutions. We feel very privileged to be in the position where we can give others a chance to succeed and help to bring more great events to the Sunshine Coast. Over the past week we have had some updates to our Community Initiatives, the program we launched in order to keep track of our contributions to local business and exceptional locals.
Last weekend saw a whole bunch of talent arrive on our sunny shores to kick off the comedy and music festival That’s Not My Dog. Spearheaded by the very talented Shane Jacobson, That’s Not My Dog aims to bring the best Aussie comedians together to be paired with outstanding live music for 3 days of fun in the sun. The event was a huge success, with everyone in attendance happy to be able to enjoy some laughs after a very rough couple of years.
We got behind this festival because it’s a family friendly event and aims to bring in some much needed tourism to our community as it recovers from the impacts of the COVID pandemic. Our team had a wonderful time attending and we can’t wait to see what happens next year when it again rolls into town. We want to thank everyone showcasing their immense talent and those in attendance for a weekend to remember. Below you can find some snaps we took over the weekend.
We are extremely proud to be where we are today but it didn’t come without a lot of hard work and sacrifice. Because we understand how important the drive to succeed is, the need to foster it within the local community is something we take very seriously. With that in mind we recently headed down to the Hit House in Bli Bli to hand out a large cheque to someone who is putting in a massive effort. This new award is called the Rising Star and this time it went to Kai Yaxley.
Kai is someone who is not one to shy away from hard work and has a wealth of talent to go along with that drive. We also appreciate the fact that outside the ring he operates with great respect, showcasing what it means to be a positive role model for others around him. The Rising Star award is picked by Global Solar chief Ryan Haynes personally and we cannot wait to see Kai develop his craft even further with the support of local business.
The aim of our Community Initiatives program is to help others thrive and we are thrilled everytime we get a chance to help someone achieve their goals or bring something beneficial to our community. We are looking to increase the amount of sponsorships over the coming year in order to give more opportunity to our local community and would like to thank everyone we have worked with so far.
